is there any particular year i should/shouldn't buy? doesnt really matter.
how much does it cost to buy/install a decent lift kit? if you do it yourself, not too bad. like $1000 for lift.
what else would be required to make sure the jeep will be ready for offroading/snow? tires, self recovery, and beer
would it be better to buy a jeep with a lift kit already installed? or should I not trust craigslist and get/install my own? install your own.
any other advice you might think I need? read and read about everything jeep!

Alright fellas i have a somewhat simple question for you. I have done my HID H4 headlight conversion and i love the way the lights looks both on road and offroad so now im thinking of picking up some lights from wally world (for the roof) and then running H3 HID bulbs in them instead of the standard 55w bulbs. So i just wanted to see if anyone has done this befor and if they had any issues?
And yes i have tried the search button........thanks in advance

hey guys, i have a leaking rear axle seal at the hub, just wondering is it a big job to fix? Is there any tricky bits to doing it, ie, is the bearing a ***** to get off or around...im not mechanically minded at all, so far ive been told that its a matter of taking off the brakes and that, and then stripping down to the bearing and changing out the seal.....what am i missing?????
It's not a small job for sure. Here is a guide for a D35 axle, the C8.25 is similar

Hey, I'm kinda new to this whole thing but I've been having some issues with my front drive shaft and I wanted to ask around before I did anything. I'm really itching to get out there and go wheeling but I'm nervous to do anything without 4x4. (I'm out in the desert.)
I had alot of noise coming from the front drive shaft so we took it out and I found a couple bad U-Joints (expected), so rust and corrosion and a couple pretty nasty cracks underneath the saddle.
I took it to some buddies of mine and they all said they think I should just replace it, is it worth buying the new one or maybe grab on off an old cherokee at a junk yard? What should I look for? I really wanna get my XJ up and driving again.

i have a 90 cherokee straight six with a 5 speed... no matter whether im in gear or just sitting in neutral when it gets to about 2k rpms its craps out... it acts like it hits a rev limitter kinda... injectors are good... all distributer components are new... plugs are good and so are wires... im thinking it could be the fuel pump or a clogged filter... i just dont know where the filter is
