I'd have to agree. Change that battery. No matter how you look at it, a black post means bad things are going on. Change it before it gets worse. Maybe the PO still has the receipt and you can get an exchange.

I need to replace my leaf springs for now until I get a lift. I just had a few questions. First being how in the #@$% are you guys removing the bolts holding the shackles and leaf springs?!!! seems like a tight squeeze for an impact wrench.
also i saw a cherokee at the junkyard that had something under the leaf pack it was maybe12 inches long and kind of looked like a really small leaf would this be a helper spring or a degree shim or what?
sorry for the lack of knowledge im new to jeeps/4x4/and leaf springs lol
thanks in advance!

As far as what you saw at the JY that's an overload leaf. They are usually quite thick and nearly flat - the point being that when a really heavy load was put on the leafs the overload keeps them from inverting. They are VERY stiff springs basically.

So i was out on some trails this weekend and i came up to some water that came up to the bumper. When i went in my auto tranny started to slip and got to the point where it would supply power to the tires even if i had it floored and i had to get winched out. When i got out of the water it ran fine. Has anybody have this problem before?

So I've looked everywhere and kind find any info on my problem. I've got a 94 cherokee with a leak at the input shaft on the steering box. Just curious if it's something I can replace while the box is still in? Or do I have to pull the box and tear it apart. Any info would be helpful! Thanks a lot.

you need to tear it apart. Best option is to replace the whole box though like I did.

if you have ribs along the edge of the outside of the brake drum, you have the 10 1/2" brakes. If it's smooth, you have 9 1/2".

I have a 85 larado and am looking for a part that the parts store said is discontinued. The tuneup label under the hood calls it a sole-vac vacuum actuator. This is where you adjust the idle. Can you tell me where I can get one or one I can make work. Thanks Dan

Sorry for the double post, I can't figure out how to delete posts once they've been posted.. Anyhow.. I took a picture of 1-24 in the Jeep service manual where the part is located.. Have a look at the page, it should give you an idea of where it is until I can get you a real picture sometime soon.

Here's another question, and my apologies to anyone I might be hijacking.
My drivers seat is broken, with the bad leaning problem that i believe is a common occurrence. Can I switch my driver and passenger seat? I know the mount to the floor will not trade over, but what about the seat itself? this is a 92, and despite my searching I can't find anything. Thanks again guys.
Also, as far as my overheating problem is concerned, I'm probably not going to pull the thermostat. I did a quick search that showed the Stant Superstat doesn't have burping holes, so pulling the thermostat would not fix anything. I'll worry when it overheats with 50/50. At least now I have a working temp sending unit.
