Now that you mention it, I did have to replace that sensor a couple years ago, so its not original.

I'm confused on how that would work, though. The obd2 computer gets a 240f reading and the cluster shows 210

Default 95 xj sport door lights???

Ok so the passenger side was super easy in finding the route (black wire on the black and yellow connector located under passenger kick plate) to ground my leds so when the door opens lights come on.
however the driver side (under kickplate) has three wires (black yellow yellow) and I can't seem to find the correct gound to turn the light on when the door is open

any ideas?

Disregard.... I read through your posts wrong and thought you had the 4.0. I don't know what the 2.5 is supposed to be at. Not my forte, sorry.

Two different senders for the gauge and the computer.

Actually, the computer gets its information from the temp SENSOR, the guage gets its information from the temp SENDER.

Pre-OBD2 that's true. Might even still be true for 96, IIRC.

97-01 OBD2 is one sensor. The one on the back of the block was removed.

So I am researching tinted windows and came across this in my '00 parts catalog concerning:

This is the hatch window:
55174 951AB 1 Tint Heated
55174 952AC 1 Privacy Heated

This is the front door windows:
7 GLASS, Front Door
5517 5430 1 74 Right
5517 5431 1 74 Left

The remaining windows are showing one part number for tint and another part number for privacy like the hatch.

So never seen front tinted windows from the factory. So that makes sense but trying to figure out why there is only tint and privacy for the rest. I have seen Jeeps without, well I thought they were without, tinted glass. Maybe I never looked close enough? And if that is the case is tinted glass what I am mistaking for just glass and privacy is the darker ones I see? Anybody know the difference? I know I am missing something here just don't know what.

Default Help asap please

So I'm off-roading stalled and died heading up a hill. Put 2 gallons of gas in. And turns over fine but won't start. Any ideas?

Did you prime the ignition a few times to get gas back into all the fuel lines?

tried starting it and gasing it as it turned. That's it. Got it towed home but still need to figure out the issue. I did figure out it's not sparking. Stuck a screwdriver in the coil tried making an arch but no spark. There was 1 spark as I wiggled it in the 5 times I tried. Any ideas why there would be no spark? It's an 87 xj with the 2.5l

Correct. The digital gauge cluster gets its information from the computer via the temp sensor on the thermostat housing.

will this work for my 87 xj with the 2.5l?
im going to have to change the fuel pump my sending unit is trash and I was going to upgrade to a 20 gallon tank. So instead of dropping the tank multiple times I want to get all 3 done at the same time. I can't find much for the 2.5 xj but I can find plenty for the yj. And since I'm buying an aftermarket tank, would a yj tank fit or get the xj 20 gallon tank and hope the yj unit fits and works (if it would)?

ok! just replaced the fuel pump with the bosch assembly from amazon for 190$+tax shipped. purrs like a bear (with a leaky exhaust). so the fuel relay clicking back off within a second or two when the fuel pump is dead is a result of the pcm not seeing sufficient fuel pressure being accrued apparently. I had no idea that xj's had that redundancy built in. eitheer way now it's rolling again and now i can focued on other small things like door seals and a plastidip job. I'll post a writeup if i end up doing anything new.

cps, coil, bad ground, distributor...i had an 89 that had a finicky coil that wouldn't run when it was humid. figured out the problem on the day i sold it while the guy was looking at it.
