Deal haha! I am going to replace that (valve cover gasket) and torque the bolts down afterwards, and the oil filter adapter as well. Any other suggestions?
You're off to a good start in my opinion. Get the Felpro blue pricey gasket. Use no sealer.
^^Rule #1 - Always listen to Cruiser!!! Bad things happen when you don't! No seriously.
Definitely definitely definitely spring for the Fel-pro permadry when you can. I've had my valve cover on and off probably half a dozen times since I put the Fel-pro on a few years back. Thing still seals without leaking a drop from the cover! Pretty cheap investment to keep the oil IN the engine!

Pull off one sparkplug wire at a time. If the shaking gets worse - put it back on and pull the next one. If the shaking stays the same with one of the sparkplug wires off - that is the cylinder causing the problem.

In neutral it also doesn't shake as bad. Few days ago I looked it up on Google and this website came across, I read a few different things from spark plugs to motor mounts. It has 240 k and it was previously owned by a young teenager who probably didn't keep up with all its maintenance. Any ideas of whats going on with it ?
ALSO TODAY I NOTICED IT MAY BE LEAKING COOLANT (SLOWLY) .
I re-ask because this particular item is not in any possible air flow pattern. It is above and behind the large plastic front bumper. No air flow could ever strike it.
Unless it directs the cooling fan's air flow rearward possibly?

"Quoted reply" - Air dam. It is supposed to aid in aerodynamics. But 'aerodynamics' and 'jeep' do not fit well together.

Behind and above the front bumper is a plastic 'air dam' looking thing.
Why is it there?
What does it do?
What will happen if I leave it off?

This could also be done with the fuel injectors in the event you don't have a rubber glove or are chicken about being shocked.
96 XJ 4.0. Rubbery fitting about 2 inches long, attaches at one end to a nipple on the manifold and then to a vacuum hose that runs along the firewall (held together with tape in photo). I'd like to order one and replace it but can't find what it's called; it's not one of the ones that goes to the crankcase vent elbows.
If this isn't going to be a Restoration - with all original parts - you can just use a vacuum hose with the right ID I think. Over above the RF tire is a tee to the cruise-control and from there mine goes to a vacuum reservoir under the battery shelf.

****EDITED. TODAY I'VE NOTICE IT'S FOR SURE LEAKING COOLANT AND DIES OCCASIONALLY. ANY IDEAS ON THAT ? Sorry 4 all the caps

That's a check valve. The line goes to the HVAC system, cruise control, and a little reservoir in the bumper. It ensures that cruise and the blend doors have enough vacuum to operate when you floor the accelerator.

Yup I'd start with the engine/transmission mounts. Get under there with a jack and see how easy it is to move the transmission.
Air dam. It is supposed to aid in aerodynamics. But 'aerodynamics' and 'jeep' do not fit well together.
My guess will be motor and transmission mounts. In neutral there is no 'torque load' on driveline. In Drive the torque will want to rotate/shift the engine. If mounts are bad than this rotation will be excessive and cause interference of parts, most often the exhaust where it passes over crossmember/transmission mount.
Leaking coolant? It some missing or do you smell coolant in the cab with the heat on, or smell it around engine bay after shutdown?
Just to cut and drill the output shaft? Or fully install with driveshaft and corrected pinion angle?
It also dies occasionally and for sure it's the coolant. The only thing missing that I know of is the cover for the fan.
Question for those that know 4.0 motors. If coolant has leaked into motor through cracked head, could this cause both banks of oxygen sensors to throw CEL codes, even when replaced with new ones?
