lolz, well I'm glad you posted your link, I wouldn't have even noticed my mistake otherwise.. I'd rather be called out (or I guess call myself out) for it than give bad or irrelevant info!Originally Posted by cruiser54

As long as you linked to something personally embassarsing so we can all use it against you, it's OK. We'll forgive you. Then use it against you when you least expect it;-P.

oh I do! Pretty consistently. I figure I'll slow the process down if I see they have a Renix and don't just link away!Originally Posted by cruiser54

I'm looking to most likely replace the front driveshaft. Does anyone have a suggestion on where to buy or what brand? I'm getting a tom wood's rear, should I get a custom front, a stock front? I've seen one online for like $150 but didn't know how much quality varies with replacement driveshafts.

I currently have a rebuilt junkyard shaft, vibrates like crazy. I plan on keeping the jeep forever and max lift of 4.5" so stock should still work I assume. I just want a long lasting, not breaking the bank driveshaft unless I really need to spend a lot to get stock like quality.Originally Posted by salad
What's wrong with a rebuilt junkyard shaft? How long do you need?

Why does it vibrate? Are the U joints bad? Is it out of balance? Bent? It's just metal, not magic lol.Originally Posted by SatiricalHen

A ZJ shaft would be good for 4.5" lift. Nothing wrong with a new custom one if you've got the cash.

The u joints are all new, I'm not sure if its bent or out of balance, but I'm tired of throwing time and money at it and would just like to get a good quality driveshaft that won't cause me problems for a good while at least.Originally Posted by salad

Have you considered taking it to a driveshaft shop and having it balanced? Doesn't cost much at all.Originally Posted by SatiricalHen

Try one thing first. See if it was taken apart in the splined section and put back together "out of phase", that is the u-joint yokes are not aligned. If you lay the shaft on a flat surface, the double-carden caps and the front caps should be parallel with each other, not rotated. If you get the splines misaligned, it can cause vibration.Originally Posted by SatiricalHen
