Im not even sure if this would be considered a tech question but im doing some work on my 2000 xj and slowly starting to learn things about vehicles in general and working on my own. I have a crack in my ac pump and im planning on replacing it. The two buying options are one that has a pad fitting accumulator or the other with the block, the question is I have no idea which one I need or how I can tell which one I need? Any help is appreciated or any input on what to buy.

I have a 1994 XJ Sport 4.0 Automatic & I have a leaky gas tank that needs to be replaced. I checked the technical write up section and only found a few write ups on fuel pump replacement. I figured since I have to drop the gas tank I might as well replace the fuel pump too. I need some information on the proper way to drop and replace the gas tank. If any one has some links or write ups I would appreciate it greatly.

Does anyone know the bolt and nut size for the Muffler flange. I am only running one since the other snapped with the nut attached, may not be able to loosen take to home depot. Not sure why the new muffler didn't come with nuts for the pre pressed in bolts

Loosen the tank straps, drop the gas tank, disconnect the lines and hoses.

1) I get the tank as empty as I can before dropping it to reduce weight.
2) Use a jack to lower it down if you have one available.
3) Replace all the rubber hoses while you're in there. If you don't they'll likely leak within the next few years.

You don't have to drop the gas tank for pre-97, since everything passes through the side. It makes it easier but its not necessary

Could ZJ cv axle shafts be a direct bolt in on a XJ Dana 30? I know they are the same width wms to wms but wasn't sure if the knuckles or anything were different

I just swapped in a 242 behind my ax15 and thought that cv shafts would be excellent along with full-time mode. It's a daily driver, doesn't taken off-road so the strength is not the issue to worry about

Does the full-time mode still work correctly behind the AX15? I know they never came from the factory like that and people have speculated full-time wouldn't work properly paired with a standard transmission. I haven't heard any concrete evidence so I'd like to hear from someone with actual experience.

Yes it works perfectly. :-D. Best part of all, it was a direct bolt-in

I don't see why the old-style CV shafts wouldn't work. I have seen jeeps with one of each, where they replaced one of the CV with a u-joint shaft. AFAIK the splined outer never changed

That is great to hear! This means when I swap in a standard I won't have to worry about trying to find a 231.
