I have a hole in the back of my muffler and every time I get on the highway and stomp on the gas, I get a really bad smell, most likely coming from my cat.
My question is, if I remove my muffler to fix the leak, put a pipe instead and leave the cat there, will the smell be worse or the same? If I get it fixed properly it'll be by a shop so this fix would be temporary while I gather to cash for a proper job, I'm just wondering if by removing the muffler the smell will get worse.
Thanks
