Okay, I'll check both of those things when I pull it apart. Thanks for the info.

Hey guys, been having some high idle and other symptoms lately in my 99. It began with other symptoms so I changed my tps and cleaned my tb and iac.

The tps cleared up a few symptoms but seemed to make others worse. When I removed my TB I noticed there was no gasket between it and the intake. It was metal to metal.

Is there supposed to be a gasket there?

I was stopped at a red light that turned green and laid into the jeep, looked in my rear view and I left a smoke cloud, what causes that?

jack up the rear, place on jack stands, put into D and take a belt sander to the treads until it's is really close to balding, then go back to the intersection and try again.

Usually bad valve seals or a clogged CCV system.

2001 Cherokee starts fine when cold, but once warm if it sets for 5 minutes or more it takes 2 or three crankings to start. I replaced the coolant temp sensor, but no change. I hope i'm asking my question in the right area of the forum.
Has anyone had a simular problem?

You guys think it could be heat soak? There's a recall for '01s that gets you a free heat shield between the intake and fuel rail.

If you don't already have the shiny foil-like shield there, it may help

Something like this I would verify fuel pressure and try priming the fuel pump several times before starting. I feel heat soak the jeep would feel like its misfiring

So I need to replace the passenger side tie rod and the drag link (the one that connects the pitman arm to the tie rod, right?) I'm planning on going to 35's and a long arm eventually, is there a better steering kit that will work stock and with the long arm? I really don't want to buy things twice and definitely can't buy everything right now. Do you guys recommend an over the knuckle kit or should I just stay stock for now? I forget does the rusty's or other long arm kits usually come with steering stuff as well?

As low as possible and still have full articulation. Willing to trim fenders. Maybe 4.5, 5.5?

If the smoke is white , it is transmission fluid, means a bad modulator if it is an auto transmission.
If it's blue, it's oil, bad valve seats, but it would smoke at start up also
