You guys are gettin rowdy..LOL...1 upstream = OBD1...1 upstream and 1 downstream = OBD2 ...Big diff..,. OBD2 you can tune from a laptop..."oh the joy"...OBD1 is difficult to do performance programing on ...more machines more $$

Is the blend door actuator moving your blend door? You can typically hear it changing/closing off. And can you be a little more specific about the a/c being on the (sw)itch not spinning?

Tetra-ethyl lead was added as a cheap hack to get around poor fuel quality and part quality in early gasoline. TEL formed deposits on valves and seats that prevented little micro-welds from forming. These little welds ripping apart was the cause of premature valve seat wear... not pressure from slamming shut.
Those Fords didn't have valve seats...they were metal to metal...hence the pounding without lead caused the exhaust valves to "sink" into the head...at the same time they had aluminum carb spacers for EGR. They would burn "pinholes" to the intake throttle venturi causing a massive internal vaccum leak..

Again my point is that there are plenty of good motors (like 4.0's) out there with little or nothing wronv with them, but "missdiagnosed" efforts
