how far is it going when you hit it?

 

about to my fingers, hitting it as hard as I can given its kinda in a hard spot. I even brought the sledge out and nothing

 

its just stuck in there good,try useing a little heat on it

I used a dead blow hammer on mine. I just hit the top of the bolt/tre.

 

Poor bolt... The correct place to hit on is on the side of the pitman arm, it will pop out after a couple of healthy strikes..

 

Really? Oh well, atleast I didn't use a ball pein, I used a soft faced dead blow.

 

I got it off with a smaller pickle fork and torch finally

 

Glad you got it off.
The one you have is probably for ball-joints. The smaller one is for tie-rod ends and similar sized joints. There is a set or many sizes actually. Some fit into an air-hammer for extra punch.

They were gonna give me the smaller one but then decided it wouldnt work. I think I need to pick up a smaller one for next time... Know any good tricks for getting a stuck oil filter off?

 

its a last resort but you can take a screw driver and punch it all the way through the filter and use it like the T part of a tap to twist the filter off. I've always been able to get mine off with a dry rag and a strong grip.

 

So, im not sure if this is a good place to ask or not, but im going to anyway. the power seating went out on my 92 cherokee and i cant find a fuse diagram anywhere!! any solutions? or picture? or anything?? thanks!

 

I've got a clacking rattling sound up in the front of my 1991 XJ ,only over 25 mph and it disappears while turning left and slowing down under 25 .Changing into neutral and revving the engine or braking does not affect the sound. Could it be the front axle shift motor loosing vacuum and allowing the gears to slightly mesh or clatter together ?

I'm new to the forum and to chat rooms in general . I don't know how to post this as a new thread by itself yet and I'm not sure if I should , being such a newbie and all.
