what is the CPS responsible for ?
I had a little argue with the steelership today & had to pay $200
for a diagnosis + Fuel pressure TEST, Fuel DRAIN & $20 worth of new fuel and another DRB TEST (no misfire codes )
Result--> Needs NEW PCM ,ONLY NEW NO GUARANTY or possibility of returning if doesnt help $1000
they said that they will not do any more testing b/c they dont need to :O
(I was hoping for a engine compression check & injector noid test)
Found a place that says that they will check my ECU-PCM-CPU for $40
reprogram it for $90 and if its bad a used reprogramed for $250
SADLY Im not able to any work on the car myself b/c of where I live
I know previous owner verry well, he left me the car after getting 4th DUI
befor leaving he told me that there was a lot of work done on a car like
1 of coil packs is new, spark plugs, wires, new exhaused, shocks, TMC reseted, ETC
but I dont really know what exaclly was accually DONE and checked !!
no receipts, no phone numbers
so I cant really relay on what he said :/
what do you think ? what should I do ?
The CPS is responsible of spark and injection timing.
anyway if you need a PCM go to pick one at the JY, you can easily do the work your own, the computer is under the hood.

what controls the voltage for the fuel pump?? im only gettin 6v at the pump connection. i was runnning fine 2 nights ago than stoped to get some gas than started it up and it only stutterd. i ran jumper wires straight to the battery and it starts right up. im thinking the low voltage is having to do something with this. thanks

Bypass the ballast resistor, that ceramic thing on the left inner fender wall, near to the egr solenoid.

hammer and flat screwdriver make a hole on the seal face and pull it out. Tap the new seal in place with either a wrench extention or something that fits around the shaft.

Red face front dana 44 hubs?????

So I've decided to "go big or go home", and do a full with axle swap, but I've already found myself lost with these things called " manual locking hubs", not really an XJ thing lol. So what I've got is a 78' ford dana 44, and I've changed the outers to the heavy duty, external mount hubs, but what my question is, is what spline hubs do I need with the heavy duty outers and are they compatible with what I already have?????? Please help!!

Look under the exhaust manifold. Does it have the knock sensor?
