My turn sinal flasher is on the fritz. Clicking randomly and annoyingly. In the long run I want to put LEDs on the outside. Would a flasher made for LEDs work with regular bulbs?

I was looking at this one.

Looks like a good unit. 150W capacity is a **** of a lot for turn signal bulbs! lol

Looks like if you want to go LEDs at some point that's a pretty good buy, but don't be surprised if this doesn't fix it. Check the multifunction switch too.

Yea I'm worried that it is the multi switch. Those aren't cheap, I'd rather buy new but that'll be pricey for a good one. JY part I guess. I figured at $10 I can try that and at the very least I will have one that works with LEDs.

Hope I am posting right. Long story.. A few weeks ago I accidentally ran my battery dead; gave it a jump and drove it a week or so then it mysteriously died again. Tried to jump it and it wouldn't hold a charge (also tried slow charge), ended up replacing the battery. Ever since it has been occasionally hard to start at random times (3-5 sec of cranking) and when this happens it idles rough and rich. Now the gas gauge has decided to join in the fun with occasionally reading empty. I originally thought I was having electrical issues but now I am not sure what I should be looking at or even if the two are related. I have replaced the fuel pump almost two years ago now... and if it is going out again, grrrrr. Also, it's coming up on 150k and I haven't given it a tune up in the 2 years I have owned it, but it has always fired up and ran amazing post fuel pump replacement until the battery incident. And (sheesh I keep adding stuff) it is not throwing any codes at all.

Might just need cleaning. Over time metal particles wear off just like from a saw or grinder and create a conductive mess. My Golf does this to the extreme.

Well it's certainly time for that tuneup. What are the voltages when it's sitting, cranking, running rough, and running well?

What's the year and engine please?

Hows your alternator? Battery cables? Grounds?

98 inline 6 cyl 4.0 w/ k&n cold air intake. It doesn't fall below 12 when cranking and at idle it it sits between 12-14 and closer to 14 or so when accelerating. Found the paperwork on the fuel pump. It was replaced 11/16/2012, Airtex brand. Also after reading different threads I was going to do the plugs/wires and clean the TBI to start.

That's definitely your alternator. I had the same problem a few months ago. My battery cables became a little loose and it ended up frying the alternator. Started with gages going on the fritz. It's a common problem, and it's relatively cheap to fix.

Cables look good and grounds were cleaned just prior to the battery replacement. I believe the alternator is original as the previous owner kept crazy mad logs of date, mileage, and MPG at every service done.

Airtex pump and no codes come up during a scan?

After you get your tune-up done you might wanna rent a fuel pressure testing kit.

Yes, Airtex pump. I should have been more specific about the code thing; I meant there has been no check engine light come on. I don't have a code reader at the moment but have access to one. I will let you know how things go after the tune up. I just don't want to have to drop that tank again!!! And thank you guys for the advice!

I pulled it and cleaned everything. No change.
