For you roof mounted led bar peeps out there! How did you run the wires into the cabin without drilling through the roof? I'm trying to make my wiring job nice and clean as can be

It didn't make sense that part of the exhaust is weldable and part isn't.. But like I said, knowing so very little about a subject makes it hard to argue. I've got SS headers to stock pre-cat, so it didn't seem like anything special. Thanks man.Originally Posted by XJwonders
No It's a scam. I welded plenty of exhaust stuff with regular rods and wires
Oh now u mention it, to weld stainless steel to steel. U would need to use 309L filler material.
Wish u mentioned u had ss headers on, lol.
Nickel rods are for welding cast iron

It was my alternator that was giving me the starting problem. Big 0 not even loaded. Had to feather the pedal to start then ran fine for anyone that searches. smoother idle and more powerful starting now.Originally Posted by crabmushrooms5
Thinks its the latter. Thanks for the help. I know I'm kinda freaking out since there was an attempt on the life of my XJ. Going to see if I can scoop up some 4awg at advance to upgrade.
Also cleaned my TB and IAC then seafoamed which seems to have given me better mileage.
Just put seafoam in the tank maybe that will solve my 59psi fuel pressure, fingers crossed.

Just put on a new 90a "toughone" alternator. Closest Bosch 117a, I had 117a on my build sheet, was in Atlanta or Memphis 5-10 days. I have 1000w amp and 2 12's in the trunk with a 820cca stinger battery (test read 820cca factory rated 550cca
)
1. Will the 90a alternator die prematurely with my sound setup? I barely get a slight dim in my dome light when I turn the music up.
2. When my current alternator gives out, which alternator should I go with? Don't really want anything bigger just more amps if possible, since getting the alternator out was kinda risky to my a/c condensor line.
3. Is the ground wire upgrade (kelleyswip?) worth the time?

You have it correct, pointing down and forward is 2WD. Down and back is 4Lo.Originally Posted by DieselD

Any tips/tricks for getting an axle in by yourself? It keeps falling off the floor jack and I'm having a helluva time working the jack and getting the center pins lined up.
Jack stands?
Do u still have the tiny OEM bottle jack? U can jack it up with a floor jack on the pumpkin and when u get it close to position. U can use the bottle jack under the axle below the leaf spring and guide it in.

It needs to be on two jack stands, lift one side at a time then the other, bring it up close, then use a jack on one side to finalize position. Then other side.Originally Posted by DieselD

Or put the wheels on axle and roll it under, support pinion, then lower jeep.
