'99 XJ with the AX-15

Symptom 1: Severe engine bogging when in 1st, no throttle, maneuvering in parking lot.
Symptom 2: When at speed and shifting, the engine rpms drop down really fast when the clutch is pushed in. This causes rough shifting and a slow release of the clutch combined with some throttle to achieve a smooth shift.

Attempted fix: Cleaned the throttle body and IAC. Got quite a bit of gunk out.

Results after 1 week: zero bogging and smooth shifting.
Results now (3+ weeks): minor bogging and symptom 2 is back in full.

Any ideas?
Replace the IAC? I don't have an analog multimeter, so I have not checked the TPS reponse yet.

Test TPS first. Also try removing the rear CCV hose and plugging the hole on the intake manifold. If it stalls out you've confirmed either the IAC is shot or the engine thinks it doesn't need to be opened. There's also a possibility that the PCM forgot where the IAC is... removing the battery cables to clear short-term memory can sometimes clear that up.

Ahhh, fix a flat. I work on bikes and people LOVE their "slime filled" tubes. Even when they burst and spray slime all over them! They want another one installed! We usually wash the bike off and curse them for being stupid. I think of it more of a "flat alerter" than a flat fixer.

I am trying to dig up some replacement rims from local 4x4'ers

Thinking about getting those Rugged Ridge rims that seriousoffroad has for stupid cheap.

Sorry, just don't agree with " don't use it" just because it is hard to work with.
Trailer tires filled with slime? Sounds very unsafe to me.

It really bugs me when people do dumb this when it comes to trailer tires. They are not designed to be plugged and filled with slime to properly carry a heavy load. Just seems very unsafe.

What do you think it is designed for?

Are you suggesting that other tires don't carry heavy loads and are designed to be filled with this stuff?

Obviously to plug a leak but when it comes to trailer tires I don't believe its a area to skimp and go cheap fixes. Just my .02 though. Carry on with your personal ways.

Anyone know where the "part time" indicator lamp for the np242 grounds too? It stay on no matter if I'm in 2ni or 4lo or full time. All the others come on when they are supposed to this one just stays on all the time. Even if I unplug the wires at the tranfer case

Dash cluster like the rest of them. The switch in the transfer case should be what powers the lamp. Check wiring for frays and rodent snacking.

That's what I was considering. I'm not a fan of self-tappers though, and it looks like I can get a wrench under the coil perch. I didn't like the idea of a bolt head sticking above the hockey puck, wasn't sure if I could counter-sink it.
