That ain't a 4.0L, and it sure as hell isn't the factory V6 that was in there

I don't care how wide the slicks are or how big the hood scoop is... an XJ looks odd as hell on a dragstrip. I love it though.

Jeepers, I need some advice. I have a 98' xj 4.0/ax15. I have about 3000mi on a new clutch kit I installed and have yet to have any issues until today. I possibly did a little clutch glazing trying to crawl a tire with 307s and 33s. After the glazing it seems like there was a slight loss in power however no major issues. All of a sudden I go to shift into gear and the clutch pedal felt as if there was a light pop then the pedal went to the floor. I let off the pedal and now it is operating ok with good pressure. From there on it seems the clutch is grabbing better however at first It felt like the clutch pedal would not go down as far, as if it bottomed a bit earlier than normal.

Could that have been related to removing the glaze or possibly air in the slave cylinder line? The slave cylinder does not appear to be leaking.

Default Radiator question

Replacing a bit of front end today, radiator is one of the things getting replaced. My '99 XJ has AC, but it doesn't work and hasn't in forever. I don't much care about the AC working. The "new" radiator I got from the junkyard they snipped the aluminum(?) hoses to the compressor. Is it possible to just cut the ones in my jeep as well? or does that spell disaster with the belt still running the compressor? Not particularly well versed in AC.

The system is most likely empty but I'd make sure it was discharged before you go cutting lines.

No, if the system is empty and the clutch is disengaged then it's not going to hurt the compressor. It'd only be a problem is the clutch kicks in.

Just pull the entire condenser out of the Jeep and leave it off.

Convert it to on board air.

I second converting it to on board air. I did mine and it is great. You'll be surprised how much air it puts out. Mine was pretty cheap to do too

i never really realized there was such a big Cherokee race following. ill have to have him look into it. as much as i think that cherokees should be race cars it is kind of a cool idea to turn one into a sleeper. it would be funny to see the look on a big turbo diesel or a ricers face when your smokin em.
