Funny story: damaged TC rear output seal while offroading into the badlands 5000km away from my house(summer 1995 4x4 road trip coast to coast and back). I put ATF in a water bottle with a pull out cap to top up the transfer case until I could get to the nearest part store to get a seal but I accidentally twisted the bottle while filling up and the little white cap fell inside the TC. FFFFUUUUCCCCKKKKK.. Anyway, I figured.. Plastic "Ill open the TC when I get back home". The trip was over a month long. Went off roading in the rockies and multiple other places on the way back to Halifax in Canada and the US. Or course I replaced the seal at the next part store.. I got home and forgot about it. About 5 years later, I figured it was time to change fluids. When I pulled the drain plug, the plastic cap came out. Id didn't have a single scratch other than teeth marks from when my kid drank the water. Way to go ATF...

true story..

PS I now have a very very big syringe for those jobs in my tool box.. Its slow but it makes no messes and it works.
And a great story. I've found rags in axle tubes years after swabbing them out.

Depends on height. Steering components, bumpstops, trackbar, etc...

They mostly limit down travel. If you remove the shock and extend the suspension, you will see the lower control arm hit the shock bracket about an inch past the max factory shock length. Very restrictive. Notice the short arm lift kit have a bent LCA. Its to negate that situation.

With IRO bent LCAs and 2" lift shocks on stock suspension, my LCAs were still the limiting factor because they hit the shock plates. I was going to notch the plates and see what gains I could achieve, but I'm parting the truck.

Sorry to hear.
I started cannibalizing the Cherokee I drove for 23 years... One can get pretty attached..

If you are going to stick to a short lower control arm, its best to have the slightly offset mounting point type then a bent one if max wheel travel is your goal.
Next best thing is long arms... Lots more $$$

Looking for some input here. My YJ threw a rod on Friday, and I need a new motor. It's a '93 fuel injected 4.0L HO, so it ain't nothin' y'all ain't familiar with. My options are to drop in a used motor for around $600 or buy a reman for around $2k.

Can't decide if it's worth that much extra for a 3yr warranty.

Default Brake lock up

Whenever I am driving my jeep after it has sat in one place for several hours at a time, my right rear wheel locks up. What could this be? I had a mechanic check the rotators and they said there is still 60% remaining.
