So I went digging this Saturday and I was in some deep water and I got stuck in two wheel so I put it in 4low and I got out but I couldn't shift it back in to 2 wheel it was a ***** just getting it In to 4 wheel part time ... Before I got to a tras shop any thing any of you. Can think of ???
Here's how the factory suggests you shift the transfer case and I've been doing this since these things were new and I worked at the dealership. Quoted from the owner's manual.
"To engage, shift the transfer case lever from 2H to 4H while the vehicle is moving at any legal speed". I let off the gas, throw the lever, and then tap the gas and let off.
4L position: " To engage, slow the vehicle to 2-3 MPH , shift the transmission to Neutral, then shift the transfer lever to the right and pull firmly rearward to 4L".

I watched the video again on my laptop this time. at the 1:08 area, your axle looks like it really pulls into the rear doors a lot. The rear shackle looks like its bringing the shackle eye of the leafs really far back. Take one last pic from the sides of the jeep so I can get an idea of where the tire sits in the wheel well. also What kind of rear driveshaft you running. stock/SYE/GC front etc.

OK I took the IAC out yesterday and cleaned it and it didn't fix my high idle. The rpms go higher when I put it in reverse or drive but I'm not touching the gas. Would a bored throttle body help?

The 242 transfer case is particularly stubborn. How's your fluid level?
