Lol good deal. Is there any "normal" things I have to watch out for with a 97 XJ?

Nothing that jumps out at me that's year specific. 97 was a transition year so you may have some funny stuff going on my but nothing too bad.

What was the manufacture date?

Thanks for the answers guys! I just won't worry about it unless I end up going bigger than 31s then.

It's the first year of a major change in body style and wiring, with that in mind I keep hearing that 97 has more electrical problems that were worked out in other years with labour and process changes (though the parts remained the same).

To be honest though it's a Chrysler job, so electrical/wiring should be #1 suspect always.

Check out this thread: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f51/cr...x-tips-153657/ Indeed it's "mostly Renix" but gets you on the right track.

If got a light belt squeak at lower rpms, my belts good and tight, I can flip the belt only about 90*. Should I put any dressing on it?

No. Belt dressing is not meant for serpentine belts.

Replace the belt.

I went through 3 belts before I bought a Goodyear Gatorback to eliminate a belt chirp.

+1 just get a Goodyear Gatorback. Tighten it until you don't get any squeaks. No need to make it tighter, it shortens bearing lifetime.

I plan on doing 2" budget boost lift, and keeping it on the stock tires with some black steel wheels.

But if I decide to keep it, I would like to go bigger, my only concern is that its just a shade over 200,000 miles. If I put too much tire under it would I be slowly killing the engine? Even if I do keep it I probably would only go 31-33 so nothing real extreme.

I just wanted some opinions on wheather this is a good idea or not.

Any input is much appreciated,
Thanks!
My 88 in the pic here had 245k on it before i pulled the mill for the HO in my project. It has 31s and with the renix it was a bit of a slug after the HO swap it doesn't care, plenty of power to move 31s. Oh and the HO reads over 200k. 4L are awesome.

I got a 3'' lift on my Cherokee with Tuff country lower control arms, well the bushings in the tuff country aftermarket LCA is bad, so i want to change em. Well are they pressed in ? I dont have a press so i couldn't do it without. The bushings are 50 dollars, new lower control arms are $120, so it would be great if i can save some $$$$$$ . Let me know guys, thanks.

I have an 02 WJ and I havent had wipers in forever. First they would work then randomly they would slow and stop. Id have to stop turn the jeeo off for a few min then when I started her back up they would work. Well, now they don't work at all, I replaced the wiper motor and all the linkage, and the switch off the steering column. Took it to a shop because it wasnt working still, and they said the BCM was bad. Well I just replaced that and they still dont work, yes I have checked fuses and relays. Any other ideas?

Did you check if you have power getting to the wiper motors, if you dont have power going there, then eaither, you got bad fuse, or bad wire somewhere lol

I took it to the shop they checked all that and said it was good at the wiper motor, that there was a problem at the BCM and to go to a dealer. I just dont want to nor do I have the funds to fork it over to a stealership.
