I see. U joint is stronger then uv joint. LOL
Uv joints can be replaced for under $40, cv joints are more costly not as easy to fix or replace unless you have a spare shaft. I'd say if the cv is cheaper to for it It will feel smoother driving in 4wd on dry surfaces when turning.
They are used on many awd vehicles successfully. Just keep an eye on the cv boots. Any open crack in them means imminent failure soon.

Yes. There is no limit of time or distance on 4wd using only front wheels with part time 4wd. Not recommended for full time awd transfer case.
Neither electric lock switch (driver or passenger) will lock the doors. Both work to unlock the doors, but not to lock them.
I can lock the doors with the key or by pushing the slider.
Any suggestions?

Check the wiring in the driver's switch, if that's gone out it would take out the passenger switch too.

recently bought an '96 xj that just needed tranny work. jeep fires right up but when i push the clutch in and try to put it in gear it just grinds and won't engage.. there used to not be pressure in the clutch so i replaced the throw out bearing, slave cylinder, and clutch master cylinder. the clutch itself looked alright when i pulled the tranny out, but idk what else it could be.. anyone know what the hell my issue is? ha
