Here's a question for the 8.8 guys. Any problems with driveline vibes? I wondered since the differential isn't centered it would cause any issues. I have brackets on the way for the one that's sitting in my barn so it'll be in soon!

I've never had vibe issues.

3? You should either have 2 or 4. 2000-2001 with the three-cat system should have two NTK 23151s installed in the manifolds before the mini-cats, and two NTK 23110s in the collector/downpipes immediately after the mini-cats, with no sensors around the big cat. Previous OBD-II model years or 2000 XJs with non-California emissions should have an upstream NTK 23151 in the downpipe and an NTK 23099 installed at the end of the cat. (At least these are the P/Ns in my 99, 97-98 might differ)

Hey guys.. My 2000 jeep cherokee has the 4.0 liter high output engine.. As it is my daily driver, I'd like to get a spare alternator and starter motor out of a junkyard to rebuild and have on hand, should my current ones "give up the ghost". Question is.. (and it should be simple) how far back in model years can I go to get replacements? I wouldn't assume they've been the same forever.. I just don't want to get one from a '93 if '96 was when they started making them different or something.. Anyway, thanks in advance for the help.

I just looked at a couple aftermarkets on Summit, and they say '91-00...so basically any HO. Don't know if that applies to stock alts, though.
