Thanks for the answers.

Walking away with
1. The drop in suspension is not to much to worry about.
2. Understanding the arguments for lifting ... and 2WD

Timing. You've got spark, but is it firing at the right time?

Without having my head under the hood, I'm throwing out what I've done. It's a 90 with the TBI right? Looks similar?

Default Any hard mechanical differences btw XJ Sport and other models

Any hard mechanical differences btw XJ Sport and other models? (1996-2001)

I am not asking out optionable things like cruise control or AC or trims but things like suspension, anti-slip, engine types, ...

I read there are some suspension "upgrades" to the country models - Details?

Basically just trim packages other than the up country on the limited models I believe.

Country is a trim package. UpCountry was an offroad package with a 1" lift and skid plates. Very rare nowadays.

Pretty much everything was optional on these things. Only thing outstanding is that 2001 models were all 4.0L in the US. No 4cyl that year.
