I am not asking out optionable things like cruise control or AC or trims but things like suspension, anti-slip, engine types, ...

I read there are some suspension "upgrades" to the country models - Details?
edit:Nevermind I dunno. I have a 94 sport

NewKindofClown covered the UpCountry and engine options already. Gearing changes based on engine and transmission. ABS was only available on the D35, non-ABS XJs can have either the D35 or C8.25. By 1996 non-disconnect front axles with the larger U-joints were standard. Limited slip differential in the rear was optional.

There were a couple major changes in 2000:

- AX-15 was no longer in production, manual XJs came equipped with the NV-3500 (maybe 3550)
- Dana 30 changed from High Pinion reverse-cut gears to Low-Pinion standard-cut gears
- Engine management changed from distributor to coilpacks
- More catalytic converters

1996 was sort of a bastard year and may have parts from a number of places. On some early 96s you may find 27-spline Chrysler 8.25" rear axles.

How do you keep water from standing in the little dent in the center front section of the hood?

I fabbed a hair dryer mount on the hood and ran power through the firewall to an inverter.

Ready for some fighting words with this one....

I'm noticing some trans fluid leaking at the pan it seems so I want to change the gasket on it. Should I change the fluid in there or no? I got a filter and gasket kit with the jeep so I really need some solid info on this. 00 xj with 164k

You don't.

All my dirty windshield water pools up in the square indentation between the wipers. Dries out and leaves the dirt.

I can't keep the damn thing clean anyways.
