Ok, I'm sure there is a thread specifically for this, but I don't have the time tonight to look for it.
I have a '92 XJ with 4.5" of lift. I have no trimming yet, just removed the flares. I found some 35 12.50 r15's (Yes I have stock gears still, but I'm going to re-gear) for a steal. Would there just be so much trimming that it's not worth buying the 35's and just trying to find 33's? Or should I get the 35's?

If you have a D35 rear axle, start looking for a replacement.

He says the wheel opening varies by 2 inches between the early models and the late models...
Then I brought up the point that ~65% of XJs out there would be early models... Seems he'd bring in more money making some for late models but went on to say that 90% of his sales were from late models...

To drag this up a bit... when I was installing them on my '01 I cut where the pictures in the instructions showed. There was a pic of an older XJ. Needless to say the flares for the newer XJ's fit like ****. I had Doug send me some of the older XJ flares and they fit like a glove and opened the wheel well more. So they would probably work fine on any year.
