sorry took a while to respond about the high pitch noise issue. currently the jeeps head unti is factory. with a dealer installed 6 disc changer. the front speakers dont work, and I only hear this noise when the radio is not on.
Vacuum leak was a though, but this sounds more high pitch than the vacuum leaks I have heard in the past. almost like an electronical high pitch noise, similar to what a TV or something might give off. again this only happens when idling, or coasting. as soon as its given gas I dont hear it. like I said its a super high pitch noise. Im guess higher than most can hear. you can also hear it when the hood is popped and its idling, but I cannot pin point it. I will check for vacuum leaks and I am sure I may find some. lol just prolly going to be one of those deals that drives me nuts.

Greetings! My first post, although been lurking for years. Thanks in advance for all the knowledge posted in this thread, kept me sane while working on my 97 xj (168K).
I just replaced my clutch and freeze plugs and have the infamous leftover part which I didn't photo or tag, just thought I'd remember its place--DOH!
Any idea where this head-scratcher goes? 2x1.5 inches plastic. Looks like a dirt shield and seems to clip on.
Thanks!
