It probably the same thing that happened to me. The worm gear has little "spline" inside the plastic piece that it grips to move the window. They break. When it first happened to me, I drilled hole in the bracket and secured the worm gear to the bracket with cotter pins. (I followed some write-up I don't have bookmarked anymore)

I drilled hole too big and that eventually broke (pins pulled out). So I found the best one at the JY and put that in. Been fine for the last 2 months.

It's the "power window regulator" you probably don't need the motor since you said it works. It's pretty easy to get out.

Three bolts for the "post" the braket slides on, 2 for the bracket attached to the window, 2 for the motor, then 3 to get the motor off. Plus the plug for the motor and getting the door panel off. IIRC

Do you have some cotter pins? You could make a "mod" for it and if you do it right (unlike me) it might outlast the plastic piece that was there.

Yea that's the write up I was talking about.

The motor should be moving the worm gear. It should poke out the end of the plastic tube thing when the window is all the way down.

That's how it's supposed to be. Well, there's sposed to be a plastic tube covering it most of the way.
