I find it funny people being concerned with MPG when discussing mod'd Jeeps w/lifts and bigger tires.

I have a worn out track bar on my 1998... I was going to get a adjustable track bar, but most of the manufacturers say their models are for 4"-6" lifted Jeeps (ie- Rough Country, Skyjacker, Zone). I have about 2" of lift on mine (spring spacers and add-a-leafs). So, I'm wondering if adjustable track bars will even fit on my Jeep with only a 2" lift....

I'm going to be putting on a 4" lift in the spring. But, the track bar can't wait that long. I'd hate to put a new stock one on and then have to change it out again when I put on a new lift. Any help or advice is appreciated.

Default A/C

I just bought a 1993 4.0 and i noticed that the A/C compressor isn't hooked up to anything and i'm not sure why. it doesn't have the hoses, i know the previous owner hit a deer and probably replaced the radiator. I was wondering if the stock condenser is integrated into the radiator or if it is separate. i'm hoping that the compressor still works and all i have to do is add a condenser.

Default Testing Dash Clocks

I've come across a couple of dash clocks and and would like to test them before I install them. Is there a way to test them. One is from an 89 xj and the other is from an 86 xj. Thanks for any help.

ironrockoffroad has 2 double shears available. one thats adjustable from 1-5 i think the other is 3-7. ironrockoffroad.com

when you life to 4" you'll need control arms too, check out ironman4x4 (sponsor here) he's running a deal on a set of fixed lowers and adj. uppers for $240 shipped. Damn good deal for some awesome parts.

I'm waiting for my track bar and CA's to arrive!

Help please have a"99" sport 4.0 starts/idles fine after 1-3 min it starts to run rough almost stalls kinda chokes and coughs some backfires through intake. Get wooshing sound at air box like it is really tryng to suck air recovers then does it all again. It will do this for 5-7 min then smooth out and run fine no loss of power slight loss of mpg 1-3. Does this every time it sits for 10 min. If I try driving when it is doing this it will smooth out if I punch it up to 1800rpm or better. What I have done. Started with full tune up plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter. Cleaned throttle body and idle air motor. Replaced temp sensor at first it only happend between 100-175 deg. Finally got ck eng light code said TPS replaced it. None of this has helped. Side note the colder it is outside the shorter the rough run time is. Sorry so long wanted to give all the info I could.

Like I said, I just ordered a track bar for my cherokee w/3" lift. It was $203 shipped, I think they're located in MN, so shipping might be cheaper. It retails for $189.

That's pretty steep for a track bar.... But, I'll give them a look. Thanks again!

The vacuum disconnect axle system in early XJs is very problematic. Most people just get rid of the system altogether. You have 2 options:

1) remove the vacuum shift assembly completely, install a 1-piece axle on the passenger side to replace the 2-piece one you have now from a 1993-1999 XJ, install new seals, and block off the hole. This will make it identical to the design of later XJs. Warn makes a kit for this, but it requires a good bit of mechanical knowledge.

http://www.madxj.com/MADXJ/technical...97andSeals.htm (not to replace the CAD system, but a step-by-step guide to replacing the stock seals)

2) install a manual shift lock cable to replace the vacuum operated system. You would have to manually pull the cable to engage the axle when using 4x4. This is a MUCH easier solution than #1.
Commercial Product, just plug and play: http://www.quadratec.com/products/52435_00.htm
Or do it yourself: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/h...ite-up-595515/
But right now my problem is the sound and it not engaging.! I can put it in 4 high and watch the fork move over fine and i cant fush the fork back to two wheel drive with my hands! its like something in the axle or something!

ahhh ok. Can you pinpoint it further? Is it really coming from the axle, or is it coming from the transfer case?

Default What now?

As of late, when i open the rear hatch the light back there does not come on. It is not the bulb because my key fob and dimmer switch still turns it on. If it is a short, where should i look?
