What? Are you talking about the throttle position sensor? if so, that's located on the throttle body.

nope. Bigger gage wire never hurts (within reason)

Default Throttle position sensor

Under the fuel pedal or at the top where it bolts to firewall is a throttle position sensor (rheostat) that tells the rest of the system that the fuel pedal is being pushed and how much its being pushed. This is on newer vehicle's that do not have linkage or cables going to throttle body. Throttle by wire, as it starts to fail the first bit of throttle is usually the first to act up. This system started to be introduced on vehicles in 2001 on a larger scale earlier on luxury and bigger vehicles (trucks, heavy equipment, etc).

As the year of vehicle was not there I posed a possible solution to the problem.

No jeep cherokee is drive-by-wire...your logic is useless in this case. TPS is on the throttle body.

You are correct about throttle by wire in Cherokee, but a check of the throttle position sensor is still in order.

Default 100% correct rear brake repair advice

The long end of the barrel always goes forward towards the ebrake or the front "primary" brake shoe pointing towards the front of the vehicle.

The short end of the adjuster is towards the rear on the main (thicker lining) secondary brake shoe side.
Just opened em back up to correct. Your description/advice was 100% correct and 100% helpful. Many thanks. Also, the link attached was very useful if anyone else wants to tackle replacing the rear shoes. (it is for a TJ, but same 9" drum) http://www.4x4xplor.com/drum-brakes.html If you click on his photo thumbnails, they go full sized. Had I just used the existing screws, I would not have had a problem, as I did one side at a time

Question coolant recovery hose

I am almost done with the closed to open cooling system conversion on my '90 XJ. What type of 1/4" hose can I get that will work to run from the radiator cap neck to the overflow bottle? Is there an auto parts chain that sells something suitable in bulk?

You are referring to the 2.5 diesel.

could someone help me figure out why I'm revving to 2k sometimes at startup? It has always idled fine but 1-2 out of 10 times I crank it up it will rev to around 2000rpm for just a second or so. Exhaust leak by chance?
