Thanks for your time.
A V8 ZJ tie rod and sway bar bolt right in, and are beefier. Keep the stock XJ drag link - the distance is different.

Question FAN NOISE

Not sure what correct name of part is but its the fan under the passenger side dash.

Started making a whining noise when not on and only goes into higher pitch when turn up the fan speed. I'm afraid to run it as dont want to burn out motor.

Didn't know if will have to take out dash to get to or what.

All help or advice is welcome!!

Default Leaking passanger floor...

Ok so I have looked on here and I see that the passenger floor which I have wet is a common place for water to gather because of the proximity to the exhaust system making it prone to rust holes... Any other ideas as to where the water could be coming from? I was thinking possibly from under where the wipers are on the hood, like under that plate..

blower motor mounted on fire wall go ahead and replace it or it will tear apart on you and scare the everloving crap out of you depending on the year it is behind the washer fluid reservoir

Hey! Brand new to the forum. I just bought a '94 Cherokee Sport and it has a few issues -- OK maybe alot! None of my interior lights work. The speedo and the cigarette lighter lights work, but the dome lights, the a/c heat control, lights under the dash, none of these work. I went through the fuses, replaced and nothing. The kid that I bought it from said that sometimes the stereo (aftermarket) would shut off when he turned on the headlights. I don't know if these issues were related or he just couldn't install the stereo correctly. He did pull the stereo when he sold it to me. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Seriously, has anyone heard of putting A bench seat in the front of A 96ish XJ, or how about A third row?

I think this is the right place, if not please direct me.

I have recently became a Cherokee owner within the last two months and I freaking love it, I've been on a few adventures already but on my most recent adventure I made a stupid mistake.

Little background story: Went too fast into some water and the engine died. The water was never higher then the front tires (33" AT's) and I tried to turn on the engine after it died, but it wouldn't crank. Got pulled out, checked the intake (no water), checked the plugs (dry), so we cranked it with the plugs and it started to turn but never fully took and the starter died so that's where I'm at with it now. Didn't hear anything break but can't be to careful.

As far as what I should do now, I'm getting a new starter and planning on replacing it myself (assuming its an easy fix) but what else would you recommend doing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you,
Colin

Sounds like a grounding issue. Check the electrical system grounds for wire breaks & corroded connectors - even it they look ok disconnect them and make them all shiny with a wire brush (mating surface too).
Main grounds to check:
1. Interior fuse box to body (below dash - drivers side)
2. Battery (-) to fender
3. Engine to firewall (at back of valve cover)

Front wont work because of the transmission tunnel. 3rd row won't work due to lack of headroom, and because of the rear wheelwells

Our alternator hangs very low on the 4.0L engine - you likely soaked it too much and fried it. Try replacing the starter first but i don't think that is your problem. Also check for wires that may have gotten knocked loose by the water.

Most common reason for this is that the cowl drain is plugged. Take off the cowl (the part around the windshield wipers) and clear out the drains located on either end.

Does anybody have a wiring schematic for the overhead console in a 90 XJ? Specifically the compass? I don't care about the rest (since the lights and everything work in it), I just want to see if I can get the compass to work. The Haynes manual doesn't show it, I don't trust Chitlins manuals (yes, that was supposed to be chitlins...) since they are full of ***** for just about everything (my opinion), and I really don't feel like pulling the console down and tracing all the wires unless I really have to (rewiring an 85 Daytona for a 90 2.5 TII engine kinda does that to ya )...
