XJ Ask the Question Thread
BODCherokee and DeiselD, thanks that's exactly what I was looking for. Kind of confirmation on the obvious and a few things I hadn't thought of (like a torch). It's allot of stuff and can get pretty expensive so I wanted to make sure I was doing it right.

I have a 99 XJ, 4.0L, 5 speed. My problem is the AC works intermittently, some days it will blast ice cold air right away and other days it will blast warm air. Is this a AC clutch problem or maybe a relay? Help!

Yeah that's pretty bad. When you're on your side still running, the oil pump isnt moving any oil so you were just running it dry. how long was it idleing for? you could have clogged up your injectors if it was laying on the driver side. Same this with the spark plugs if it was the pass side. I'd say try a tune up and some injector cleaner.

Yeah a torch is extremely nessecary for a jeep. I have become very good at pulling rusted bolts just from owning my jeep lol. You'd be surprised at how well a little heat will make a bolt come out like new.

Gotta get new lug studs and wanna replace with extended studs (I have rc 1.5 spacers) need to bring the stud flush with the end of my spacers. What thread pitch do I need?

usually the doors sag because the steel that the hinge is welded to on the body becomes weak over the years. You'd have to cut it off and fix the steel and reweld it back on. You can cut out a square hole where the hinge was and weld in thicker steel with bolts welded to the back for easier removal of the door.

Yeah i just did the 703 injector upgrade. I got them on here from programbo. They made it idle smoother and uped the throttle response but no mpg increase for me. Have you pulled your spark plugs to see how they look?
