Teeensy tiiiiny amount of movement might not affect it. Certainly if you aren't in 4WD that much. It will get reamed out and start leaking soon enough, don't worry lol.

I've not heard of doing the front bearing while the transfer case is in the vehicle still, it would definitely be a pain in the **** cuz that bearing needs to be hammered out. At that point it's less effort to just take it out and do a rebuild.

Reason I ask about doing it in the jeep is it took 4 hours to change mout so it a pita to take it out n if it comes out will have to weld a nutstrp on for the crossmember...guess ill run it n see...damn it always somthin

It's like a pressure pad I recall, a complete circuit is made when the battery is sitting on it, but once the battery comes off or falls out lol the spring on the pad separates the connection causing it to send a signal to the jeep. I could be wrong though, hopefully someone's re electrical thane can chime in

Almost - that's the battery temperature sensor. The spring is so that it's always pressed against the battery. As far as I'm aware it's just a thermistor.

I thought the factory put it in there so in case your Jeep rolled over and the battery fell out, that it would shut the engine off.. Kinda like the seat on my yard tractor......NOT.

Nah the factory hold down seems pretty solid to me. That puppy should be leaking electrolyte everywhere long before it falls out.

I owned a towing business for 13 years. Batteries are a real hazard. Wonder how it is with electric cars now???

One set was in bubble wrap in a box. The other set was just wrapped in plastic and had a sticker on it.
