I am pretty confident it is leaking from either the seal or gasket on the cover. I have a new oil pan gasket, I did the oil filter adapter mod, I have a brand new valve cover gasket and all of those are not leaking. There is oil leaking from just above the front of the oil pan right behind the timing cover. I tired to take a pic and it shows the area some. Both sides look about the same as far as how much is leaking in the same place.

Yeah, it looks like it is leaking there. Pull cover replace gasket, seal and might as well do chain and gears, since you have it off.
Since down that far, I would replace water pump too. Save doing it later.

You've actually cleaned the terminals/posts at the battery, right? What about the other end of the cables?
Also, try removing that braided ground cable from the firewall. Scrape the area under it to bare metal. Add a 4 gauge cable from there to the intake manifold, leaving the braided cable there also.
From my "Tips" link
A suggestion regarding the braided cable:
I prefer to add a #4 Gauge cable from the firewall to a bolt on the rear of the intake manifold, either to a heat shield bolt or fuel rail bolt. A cable about 18” long with a 3/8” lug on each end works great and you can get one at any parts store already made up. Napa has them as part number 781116.

i plan on getting the 3.5 RE lift with the new leaf springs and new coils so will that give me a good height?

Also, whether or not the person has a 97+ or pre 97 XJ can affect how tall the lift looks, because the flares are different. Same for trimmed/untrimmed fenders.
It should, yes. IIRC their 3.5" rear springs give closer to 4.5" when brand new and then settle down over time. But, this question is better suited for this thread.

Is this stock? It got in the way of putting my door speakers behind me lower dash where tweeters would have been. It was bolted right up under the factory fog light switch area
1988 jeep Cherokee Laredo4x4

That big connector goes to it
The jeep started and went in drive without it so I'm thinking its some kind of anti theft device?
