Ah well maybe I'm wrong then and they can just pop out!

New electrics and hybrids are using NiCad or LiIon for the main batteries. No liquid electrolyte. Probably screw a human up pretty good if they were ever punctured and shorted out.

my jeep starts kind of hard. seem to think its fuel pump bc i have to give it some gas while trying to start. i also thought it might be where the guy i bought it off of had it sitting for a while before he decided to sell it, so is either of them a good guess, bad gas or fuel pump, also which fuse/relay is for my washer pumps neither of them are working. 97 xj 3in skyjacker on 31s
what os a good brand of winch to get, im looking for about a 4500lb one

1. Your hard start is most likely due to a bad check valve in the fuel pump assembly. Try to turn the key on and let it sit for a few seconds before trying to start it. It's fuel injected, pushing the pedal does nothing but exercise your ankle.

2. A 4500lb winch on a Jeep is a waste of money. You need at LEAST an 8klb winch. SeriousOffroad usually has some decent deals going on.

That dude on NAXJA wants it. Trying to figure out how I can send it when I need to... Sounds like plastic and a sticker time.

At the pick and pull and found a motor out of a 98 just like mine, runs and drives with 184k. Only thing is the Waterpump is gone so there's some surface rust on the issue. You guys think that's okay? Inside the VC looks clean, oils golden.

The hazards on my 98 sport dont work, yet my turn signals are fine. Which relay or switch is likely the issue?

Check fuse 12 in the passenger side kick panel first.

Pics? It's probably fine. I'd attack the stripped-down block with some CLR

It's certainly possible. Try the following "poor man's prime":

- key to ON, hold for 3 sec
- key to OFF
- key to ON, hold for 3 sec
- key to OFF
- key to ON, hold for 3 sec
- START

If it fires up well you've just found a bad check valve.

If not, we're going to need more than "hard start". Crank long? Crank slow? Rough running?

Not quite - it still opens the throttle and works the TPS, which is a workaround for a sticky IAC and a dragging alternator from a low battery.

+1 a 4500 lbs winch is only good for hauling your XJ forward on smooth pavement with fully inflated street tires. Maybe. You need at least double the weight of your vehicle and all the junk in and on it if you want to get un-stuck from anything you'd actually get stuck in.

Has anyone replaced their headliner?
Is there a special type of contact glue to use to ensure a good bond for the cloth to the compact type fibreglass board backing?
I had someone replace the liner on my 88 Jeep but it all came down less than a year later. Maybe because they used vinyl instead of cloth or maybe the wrong type of spray glue??

I'm going to do it myself this time!!
