I cannot get my jeep to start so I took off the starter and tried to get it to spin with a direct connection to the battery. It worked. After that I was not sure what to do so I asked this guy who helped me get it home. He said check the relay by jumping the G terminal on the starter relay. What in the world might he be talking about?

What exactly is it doing? When you turn the key on are you getting power to the lights and radio? Is it trying to start at all or you get absolutely nothing when you turn the key? Does the radio go out as soon as you move to the start position and come back on when you let go?
Your friend was suggesting you bypass everything to see if it'll start.
If you're not comfortable doing this then don't... I don't want you to get run over.
Turn the key to the run position.
PUT THE JEEP IN PARK and set the parking brake.
Climb under the Jeep with a screw driver and short the small post to the big post with the positive wire that's headed to the battery.
Short the two posts that the orange lines point to in this picture.
If it starts then your NSS, starter relay or fuse is bad. Basically that narrows it down to one circuit instead of the entire ignition system and other issues. I'd bet on the NSS.
PLEASE DON'T RUN YOURSELF OVER

You can also hold the key in the start position and jiggle the shifter and neutral.

What have you all done with the blank dash panels, to the right of the dash, they one that normally has a clock in it? Just want to see what I can do with them.
