Nope, I just find it funny that he ran 0w40 weight oil in a motor that calls for 5/10w30, then wonders why it's making strange noises.

Do you think my brake switch could be my problem? When I bought my jeep over a year ago the brake lights weren't working and had to replace it

Default Strange Coolant Leak

HI- First post here
i looked around a little but don't really see another with this same issue. My grand Cherokee Just began leaking coolant at the front and just off center on drivers side. it looks pretty significant, but i cant see where it is coming from. the weird thing is that when i went to add coolant to the radiator, it was completely full. the only signs of a leak are the puddles i leave and the empty overflow tank. the last few days, once the coolant low light came on again, i would go ahead and keep driving couple days (while keeping an eye on the temp which never gets high) there is always a leak and a puddle when i park but every time it either takes no coolant or just a few cups into the radiator. almost seems like a leak from the overflow, but that is on the other side of the engine compartment.

any help will be greatly appreciated!
thanks- mark

Also, Does anyone know the exact size needed for the upper bolt that holds the starter to the bell housing?

The previous owner failed to put it back in. The starter was loose and was almost falling out.
top is a 14 bottom is a 15, dunno about that hole

make sure the bolt threads before you hold it up there for 2 hours trying to get it to catch like i did >_< blonde moment of the day right there

I need the entire bolt itself not the head size. I need thread pitch and length.

I did and it was a sloppy fit it didn't even fit tight in the bracket so I zip tied it to the bracket! I made shure that my brake switch was fully adjusted, I guess ill let you know how it works out for me tomorrow. Im crossing my fingers and I hope this was my problem im so frustrated with this problem that im so close to dropping that cursed Aw4 and swapping it for the Ax-15!

The 4.0 was specified with multi-grade SAE xW40 oils from the factory. An old loose engine started making noise when fed a different lubricant, hmm never heard of that before.

Are you asking if electrical issues are a normal issue for a 16 year old Chrysler product or if there are specific ones?

Specific ones mainly to do with the computer and starting issues

I'd guess a short somewhere. I don't have diagrams for HO, though.

It took me more time to get my Core fee back at Orielly than it did to do the starter. I disconnected the Positive cable which gave me slack to drop the starter on the ground and disconnect all the connections then recconect and install the 1 bolt that holds mine in.

In that regard it's the same stuff across the Chrysler-era really... grounds, grounds, grounds. For OBD-II models the braid between the firewall and block is no longer considered a "ground" but rather "RF interference mitigation" or some such. It's not as bad as Renix but grounds are really very important with the PCM-integrated voltage regulator.
