Little help on an intermittent no start....1997 4.0, occassionaly after wheelin, on a hot day, you turn the engine off, let it heat soak for a few minutes, and when you try to restart, it cranks but won't fire. After cranking for 5-10 seconds, it will pick up a few cylindres, misfire for a few more seconds then runs fine. If you let it sit for 10 or more minutes, doesn't seem to have the problem. I would imagine it's something under the hood thats getting hot during that first few minutes of shutting it off and sitting. Is this a common thing anyone has come across, to save me some money from just starting to throw parts at it? It has been so intermittent, it never happens when I have the tools and time to try and diagnose it when it acts up.....

2 back closer to the firewall probably about 6-8" in from the side of the hood, and 2 smaller ones towards the front of the hood. I have been reading some stuff on the injectors, fuel vaporizing, but the only thing that throws me off on that, is this is a new problem, still wheeling in the same climate/heat as always, never did it before....I installed the hood vents just as a precaution, not necessarily to fix a problem I was having.
I have also come across quite a bit of talk regarding the crankshaft postiotion sensors dropping right and left on the 4.0? But I would think those either work or they don't, not much in between

If the conditions are right, it'll happen. I'm still deciding how to vent heat from under the hood of my Comanche.

CPS is a fairly common problem, but not heat related. The timing could be coincidence.
I hope I'm posting in the right place, if not I apologize. Here goes nothing...
I am the owner of a 2000 jeep Cherokee classic. It in excellent condition with only one major problem. The power windows are being a pain in the ***. When I first got it which was a month ago none of the windows would go down on there own switch, only the master would put them up and down except the front passenger which did nothing on any switch. So the first thing I did was bypass the window lock switch being that was the issue in my previous Cherokee. This worked for all the windows but the front passenger. Now the front passenger goes only down on its own switch but not up and does nothing off the master. Its not the motor because I hooked that directly to my car battery and the window went up and down just fine and I've replaced both master and passenger switches. Can anyone help me its driving me nuts that I can't figure out where the problem is

hi i am going to be picking up my new 2 door xj on wendesday and the drivers seat is worn and i would like to replace it. i was thinking of swapping in grand cherokee seats since they are more comfortable and provide better back support. would they still bolt on to my 2 door tracks. will there be any problems or is it the same as a 4 door? thanks.
