Ya got me. I know suspension, but I'm still learning 242s. SBCs are foreign to me despite owning one. I'm happy as long as it runs.

I have a 1990 K5 Blazer with a 350 V8.
It was running great all day and I went to lowes to grab something and when I came out it cranked up and immediately shut down. I attempted to start it but it just turns over and over and over but doesnt actually start.
I checked and I'm getting fuel, changed brand new plugs and wires in the parking lot and I'm getting good spark, and tapped the starter but it won't turn over. What could it be? Please help and thank you
You said it was turning over, but then you said it won't turn over. Check the ground from the battery to the block, and also check the + battery cable to starter, make sure it's not shorting out. Then check your fuses and the wiring harness on pass side front of engine for any broken wires.

I ment it's not starting, it's turning over. How do I know if it's shorting out?

You should see a blackened spot probably. But you should just see it touching.

Don't go to a junk yard to get a part that commonly wears out. That is ****ing retarded. And don't take advice from this guy.

Yea, so the the computer tells it to shut off, I don't know how, but you could bypass it, just to rule it out.

It's not if its turning over. Check the harnesses and fuses. Not sure exact circuit or what it's called since I left by blazer at home tonight, but I had a problem with a broken wire shorting out one of the ignition fuses. you've got fuel and spark right? Check the cap and rotor for cracks or moisture.

I'll check the fuses when I go back tomorrow. I heard like a "poof" as soon as it started then it died. Got fuel and spark and already checked cap and rotor. They were good

At least the starters not. While its dark have someone try to start it and look for any electrical arc. Check the ground.

Yep, you got a short somewhere. That's usually what has happened when you hear a poof.
