They are structurally weaker but I don't think it's a big deal, just if you are swapping one in.

Is this ditto's for the 2000 Sport?

...I'm thinking VERY seriously - well, for me: I just texted the guy, which I wouldn't do if I wasn't serious - about a second 'kee. A 2000 Sport. Red. Very red.

...haven't searched anything yet on 2K's (love my '96). Saw it for sale 10 minutes ago, and saw this question and it seemed timely to ask while it was in the air.

housing wise HP/LP30s are the same strength. HP30s have the benefit of having reverse cut gears though, which are much stronger than standard cut gears, and a high clearance pinion with better driveline angles.

I like my 2000.
LP 30 isnt really a big issue IMO.. i plan on putting something bigger in there eventually.

The 0331 head hasnt caused issues yet (knock on wood).

This is what I was getting at, not the housings. So I guess structural wasn't the right word to use.

So on the topic of front lockers, i have a buddy that was swearing up and down that a front locker will always have the front end locked. So even taking corners it will skip and hop and ratchet because both tires are locked. He says he had a jeep that had a front locker and it was fully locked regardless of it being in 2wd or not, also said that it was a np231 tcase.

From my understanding though, a locker like spartan in the front will leave the axle open until in 4wd. Once in 4wd it is fully locked, but thats from my understanding.
