What steering set ups is everyone running? Looking to upgrade mine and am looking for suggestions. I've looked at a number of kits but still can't decide. 6.5" lift and looking for OTK or crossover.
Thanks for the quick reply. I just changed the switch and now the gauge needle went extreme right. When I crank it, it runs fine, but I only let it run for about 30 seconds.

Do yourself a big favor, and change your own oil. It's quick and easy and nobody cares more about it being done right than you.

Fluid was dirty and old as I just bought the jeep and the previous owner just drove it into the ground. It will go through all the gears 1,2,3,od fine. But there isnt reverse or neutral. So I park where I can get out easy. Its almost like the linkage is out of adjustment.I have to cram it in park to get the keys out???

You replaced the oil pressure sensor? Did you replace it with a sensor for full gauges or for idiot lights? If you installed a sensor for a gauge cluster with idiot lights, the needle will peg full.
Yes, I just replaced it with the one for idiot lights from the factory.

If your Jeep has full gauges, you need to use the full gauge oil pressure sending unit. If you use the idiot light sender, it will only trigger on/off, and your gauge will be far left or far right.
They should ask which one you need at an auto parts store. Around here, Advance Auto is the place to go.

Sorry for being vague... about to pass out I'm so tired haha. Well, I started it just a little bit ago for the first time since I drove her home.
On the 14th, drove her from where I bought it to my house, which was about 45 minute drive on the interstate (did 70 mph most of the way). Did fine most of the way home, then started going up a hill and she seemed like she was hesitating and like it wouldn't take the gas... When I started it tonight, seemed mostly fine however the rpms seemed to noticeably vary and the engine shook and shimmied here and there. Throttle response seems fairly good... I haven't done whole lot yet to diagnose it. Just wanted to get opinions and start with the most likely cause.

Here's some information on the cracked heads: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/00-...erview-118922/ 1998 doesn't have the 0331 but some of that is still relevant. What you're looking for is a milky substance. It could show up on the dipstick but really the best way to look is just change your oil. If you don't have any contamination in your old oil then that's a good thing
