It is not a constant vacuum. It is created when the engine is running. Not like the closed AC system. It is not that particular. Just pull the hose off, move the ball, reconnect the hose.

If you disconnect it with the engine running, some of the mechanicals that rely on the vacuum may not act right.

I am not an expert but my understanding is the one on the bumper controls the AC/defrost selection. If the vacuum is bad the air will only blow through the front windshield vents and not the AC vents.

I'm told it also affects cruise control.

OK. When I got a leak it did the defrost vent thing. I don't have cruise control, so I did not get the joy of that not working.

Default Kind of dumb little question

Cigarette light LIGHT works but not the outlet. Not a smoker but would like to recharge the phone, plug in the GPS.
Is there an easy fix or dual outlet replacement anyone can recommend?

Just bough these new fuel straps from Napa and they come as bare metal. What should I coat them with to stop them from rusting? Rhine bedliner, black paint etc...thanks
