Holy **** that's what rear disc conversion kits are going for? Looks like it's about time i start buying up all the parts for rear disc's in bulk and make some money off of them.. Could be had for like 50 bucks at the junk yards around here.

 

At the jy here you can buy a complete rear end for 150. I could just get a 8.25 out of a liberty that already has disks

 

Is a liberty rear end a straight bolt on ?? And do they all have the 8.25 ???

 

It's the same 8.25 in later xj's. More recent model libertys has disk brakes, older libertys have drums like xj's. It's a direct bolt on

 

Actually you may have to mount on the plate for leaf springs I can't remember

 

no it's not. KJs are coil sprung.
The disc brakes are a bolt on however. Just some messing with the Ebrake cables and the brake lines. They went to a different fitting. Ask me how I know.

 

I recently bought a 1998 Cherokee sport 2x4 and am considering converting it to 4x4. I was wondering if anyone knows what I will need for the job

 

Tranny t case crossmember driveshafts front axle and t case linkage

 

Transfer case drive line t case brace t case shifting linkage hmmm ahhh any ones else know what I'm missing ?? Look under one at a JK and take everything your don't have lol

Hey your in luck. I have everything you need to convert for sale! Just bought a 99 Limited I'm parting out.

you need
Front D30 axle complete
A transfer case. NV231 or NV242. You need to figure out the
difference. 231 is the most popular
Front Drive shaft.
Shifting linkage (See 231 or 241)
New rear drive shaft (It's much shorter now that you've added
a transfer case.)
Lots of time.
Lots of patience.

Does anyone have pics of how a headliner with the rear speakers mounts? I just got a replacement at the JY. My original did not have speakers. I have read there is a mounting plate on the roof and the rear light mounts to that. So, I need pics of that so I can see about making what I need to support the speakers.

The JY was not a pull your part, so I did not get a look as to how it was mounted.

This would be for the speakers in the headliner, I believe post 97. Not the speaker bar that is not incorporated into the headliner, pre 97.

Has anybody put subs in the rear hatch on an xj? I have two kenwood 8" subs. They hut different than a ten and want to keep them. What does everybody think?
