You can get it at a parts store. Make sure you get the right one. There's one for an oil pressure gauge, and there's one for just a warning light. Depends if you have full gauges in your dash or just idiot lights.

What's the difference between "headers" and an exhaust manifold?

Technically nothing. Headers is just an upgraded manifold. I could be wrong but the way I was taught is there is no difference except a manifold is stock and headers are a common accepted name for an upgraded manifold.

I've read it has to do with the style/method of exhaust collection. I'm no expert, though.

A header has an individual pipe for each cylinder, manifolds share pipes between cylinders. The stock xj manifold is actually a pretty good flowing unit compared to a lot if other vehicles.

When we took off the manifold on my buddy's Jeep, each pipe had a specific cylinder that I went to. The only reason why I said technically nothing is because it a lot more that goes into it. The molding obviously is a lot different. The manifold is molded while a header is actually a pipe.

Default HELP 96 GC stalling...has anyone found the answer yet?

My Dads' 96 GC 4.0 a/t x2wd 200k
We have replaced all of the following parts;
camshaft position sensor
crankshaft position sensor
ECM- (at dealer, not really sure on this one)
Fuel Pump assembly
Distributor- including Cap and Rotor

Distributor did make it run better and smoother but the Jeep still slow stalls and dies with backfire at the most inconvienent times. It always seems to start right back up. We have determined that whatever this is, it is electrical. But have run out of ideas. One of yoour posters (crazy macaw) mentioned the ASD relay. I see that this has been an one going problem with the GCs and was hoping someone out there had finally found the proper fix for this issue.
Thanks for any input or new ideas

Manifold almost identical to stock (sans bellows/flex sections):

Banks "header":

The idea is that there is less interference between each cylinder's exhaust, resulting in less backpressure in the system. Larger pipe diameter helps too. Designed right (I think equal-length tubing or something) exhaust scavanging can happen which helps keep power up at higher RPMs.

Advance Auto has them here. Some Jeeps like mine have warning lights instead of gauges, and they use a different sending unit. When you go to the store, one should say something like "with light," and the other "with gauge."
I think you're right about not driving it. That'd be a safe bet.

Hey I just removed the head off my parts jeep for my new jeep. Is there a way to clean it and how do I change the valve stem seals? Thanks

Take it to a cylinder head shop before you screw it up.
