This is all very sad! I was totally interested when I saw this post. Then I read on.... Not looking good for this guy. I feel bad for those who are waiting with empty pockets. I think I might try to make my own.

Oh. And yes. You can't run HID lights with a light relay. Because the really cuts the voltage when the engine is shut off. Could damage your very expensive bulbs!

Lesson learned. Don't get past the 2 month deadline. Let's move on.

Sorry if this is off topic, but I didn't know about the headlight delay harming HID's, mine turn off fine with the delay still working. Is that slowly damaging my ballasts?

If its not dimming them as it shuts off then no, you are fine. Our delay is generally a on/off, so the ballasts are getting 12+ volts at all time until the delay shuts them off. The only problem you will have is the inability to turn off the lights when the jeep is running and the headlights have been on without flipping to high beam. Or so it seems.

Interesting, I've never had that happen in the 2 or so years I've had mine. I'll try to make them do that and see.

Just my 2, but truck-lite sets are $375 shipped on fleabay. 3 year warranty, made in usa, most LEDs have 30-50,000 hour MTBF. Just trying to help those who need better lights now.

I'm going off of my stock headlights not dimming off. They went from on to off, whether that was an extremely quick ramp down on power or not, it was close enough to ON-OFF for me. I retrofitted a Regal GS I owned about 5-6 years ago with the same delay off effect and my HID's lasted for 2 years before selling the car and the current owner still runs them and hasnt replaced the ballasts.

I personally like the safety of having the lights delay off once I shut off the jeep. My 370z, which has factory bixenon headlights, has a delay off as well. I shut it off, get off, lock it and walk away and the lights (hids and all the leds like the taillights, etc) stay on just the same for a short period of time.

I know from experience. I installed my HID's and they worked fine. Then I turned them off , instead of sitting off, they started on for 15 sec. and then there was a buzzing sound coming from under the dash after they shut off. I unhooked the relay. And all works fine. But unfortunately, I ruined my ballast. The lights now flicker. I got a replacement, and all works fine.
