"Past two months so I cannot file a claim."-for this reason I hate Paypal. I protects unscrupulous sellers-not the customers(why? That's how Paypal gets paid son...And the same reason why other forums don't boot out bad vendors....money) Someone can walk you along with false communication and then BAM. You past the two month mark and you are screwed.
Not saying that happened here, just this is how I also found out about the two month limit (doing a sale with a forum vendor-not saying whom) . Luckily, in time though to pull the trigger on the Paypal refund. It was an easy process and I got communication back then... I didn't get in on this light deal. I built my own.
I feel for you guy that ordered the lights though. That sucks...

I'm not saying FST is a shady operation, but 2 months is plenty of time to change your mind and get a refund.
Also, FYI... paypal protects buyers. I've been on the buying side of a transaction a few times, and it's stupidly easy to get your money back.

Sometimes, sure.
But in the case where someone does not ship a product within two months, and paypal won't let you file a claim past the two month figure, how do you suppose it protects you? There are two scenarios with paypal.
Scenario 1. Seller states an item is in stock. You order it. If you don't get it after a few weeks, after repeated communication, you file a fraud claim. Two months is plenty of time here to do everything. Agreed.
Scenario 2. Seller states item is custom built. Does not have firm build time listed (or does and busts them). Lets say it is four-six weeks. After six weeks, you send an email checking status. You get a response a week later from the builder saying he's been backed up, waiting on parts, etc. You have one week left to trust that he will make good on his word. One week passes, not product, no communication. Bam, two months go buy, Paypal says can't do anything now. How is that protecting a buyer again????
This happened to me. I'm speaking from my experience. This is not the case with 95-99% of Paypal sales. But when you have that 1-5% chance of getting cornholed, and it's your money, you don't feel protected by Paypal here. They should have some exceptions to the 2 month rule, but I don't see that they do. So you as the buyer have to make a call. 1. Trust said vendor at their word and hope they honor their contract, or 2. Watch your own back, and protect your money-you made good on your commitment.
Just speaking in generalities here and not directing this at FST or anyone here in particular.

If it's a custom build, and you want to be safe, just give the seller a heads up about filing the claim for your own protection. If they are reputable and not using your funds as a payday loan scheme, they should not have an issue.

That is a good point.
It's so sad that it has to come to that in some cases.

If you think PP wants things like this to go on with a seller you are very wrong. They have competition now people will use other services.

I found out about the 2 month limit BEFORE I got corn holed, and filed a dispute and got my money back rather quickly. I covered my six...

Well said Pelican!
Fred/Noazz. How do you exactly get "You my friend have a lot to learn about buying and selling on the internet"?
NO ONE is as widely used as Paypal, period.
I did not say there weren't any other companies out there doing it. Re-read my post "Never heard of anyone else that is so widely known as PP."
That means if someone does come up, they are such a small segment of the market, that they are quickly forgotten about by me and probably most of the market friend.
Geesh....
Sell a few VHS box sets of "Cat's, they are not just for your mom's basement" and now I'm getting schooled.

You learn many different things buying and selling out of the country as well as I do. BTW how many shipments do you send and receive a day, myself not so many only 15 -35-40 depending on my new incoming shipments from overseas relates to # of sales.

Fred/Noazz-
Wow, we have learned a lot thanks to you. You have showed us:
1. You are the only person on this entire thread that knows about V-me.
2. You have also showed us that reading and more importantly, comprehension is a challenge for you.
Having a UPS/FedEx/USPS account has nothing to do with the topic.
Stay on topic!!!
They make pills that help you with that low self confidence thing...

alright boys there is enough negativity in this thread regarding the actual topic, no need to create more.
On a side note I finally got fed up with my lights not turning off and tore into the dash to remove the delay relay. Works perfectly now.
