Broken driveshaft.. What next?
Yaya ya so my ds got busted the other day not sure if I want to have a local shop make me one at $350+ or just order one.
Here is a pic of the carnage..
Any opinions or comments or reviews if you have an aftermarket ds are appreciated

Sorry I failed to mention this is my rear
I'm actually unsure if the po had an aftermarket ds I will go snap another pic of the entire shaft although i think it is

why is this a thread. take a measurement go to the junk yard and get another one. hell for time being you could probably take your front driveshaft off and put it in the rear if it's the right length

Okay sorry only had this jeep for a little over a month so this is all new to me I like to learn all I can and do things right thats all. This is the first thing I've broken on teh jeep.

oh you bought it all lifted and modded already? oh well yeah you don't have to buy a custom shaft. measure, then go junk yard hunting. front shafts are the same as the rear (when you have an SYE)

Engine: 4.0L
That is a FRONT driveshaft that is used with an SYE adapter on the XJ for the rear axle.
You will need to find a junkyard with some Cherokees and Grand Cherokees.
The front driveshafts ARE different lengths between years, transfercases and tranny combos.
Bring yours along to check lengths to be sure.
You will need to find a junkyard with some Cherokees and Grand Cherokees.

So I ended up just taking my stock front and puting it in the rear. My buddy is cutting the yoke off another cherokee ds with different splines and welding it on to the old
