New Guy has questions
Hi everyone. I知 new to this forum so I hope I知 posting in the right spot. I recently bought a 93 jeep Cherokee 2 door with a 4.5 rough country lift and 31's. I知 wondering how big of tires can go under it if I do some trimming on the fenders. I HAD (caught fire) a 84, same body style, that I made a 3 in lift for and cut the fenders but I only ran 31's under that too. Without rubbing. I have a set of 33 12.5's id like to put on it but I don稚 want them to rub at full flex. Will my stock rims work or do I need off set rims. If so what do you recommend?

Yes, you can easily run 33's with 4.5" of lift and minor trimming. Yes, you could use your stock rims, but you'll probably want 1" (at least) wheel spacers. If you don't want to use spacers, you'll probably want rims with about 3.75 to 3.5 inches of backspacing. You should be running a minimum of an 8" wide rim with a 12" wide tire. Stock ones are generally 7" wide.

Ok thanks This will be my daily driver so i dont want to put wheel spacers on it. I hear they aren't safe for the highway. Do you know of any other vehicles that would work with the right back spacing without buying new rims. Im kind of a cheap a$$.

Spacers are perfectly safe for highway use. I'm about to be buying a set of 1" spacers to use on mine. You just have to make sure that they're torqued properly and stay that way (loc-tite may be a good idea). I'm cheap too, so I hear that, but finding a factory 15x8 rim with something like 3.5" of backspacing and the correct bolt pattern isn't going to happen. You're options would be to run the spacers or find a used set of aftermarket rims. A used set in that size will be fairly easy to find. Keep your eyes on the For Sale section here and on JF along with many other Jeep specific forums and on Craigslist.
