32s but I hear 31s look ok too on this size of lift. I might drop to 31s if it makes that much of a difference.

31s are fine on stock 3:55 gears. You could do 4:10. But stock is fine.

I'd still say 3:55. Wait for someone more experience to respond.

He's doing a 4.5". I'd do 32s or 33s (personal preference), and 4.10s or 4.56 would be good depending on whether you do more street or highway. I'll upload a chart for you in a minute.

There's a chart here to determine gear ratio:
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/auto-p...size-chart.htm

And you'll want a new speedometer gear to correct your speedometer after you change tires and gears:
http://go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoSpeedoGears.htm

It'll also depend on if you have a lot of hills or if you tow anything as to what gear ratio to change to.

Hey guys I just picked up a 2001 & am looking into putting a 3" lift & 31's on it. After a lot of reading on here I have determined that its definitely worth the extra $ for the full packs but I'm still trying to figure out what lift to go with. Ill be honest I'm not looking to spend big dollars, I won't be doing any major off roading. I want the most bang for my buck.

What lift do you guys suggest? And who offers it at the best price (I would like to be in the $400-$500 range)

I want to stick with 15's but would like some black rims, what is my absolute cheapest option & where can I get them?

Thanks everyone.

Zone or Iron Rock Offroad are good, cheap lifts. Wheels can be had cheap from Jegs, Summit, or Serious Offroad. You want a 5x4.5 bolt pattern.

Rusty's is pretty fairly priced too.

Last I checked, jegs had the best deal on wheels, under $200 for 4 w/ free shipping. Also, 8" wide rim, between 3.75 and 4.5" backspacing.

Ideal wheel width depends on tire width. 8" is a pretty universal number for XJs, though.

I don't recommend Rusty cause his non-spring parts suck, and he's an ***.
