Default 1 ton otk steering

Im putting a new engine in my 98 and while I'm at I figure I might as well beef up the steering as well while the jeep is layed up. So, Ive been looking at Iron rock and JCR one ton otk steering. Now I have heard some people say bad things of iron rock, but I wanted to see what you guys have to say. And I was also looking at the Iron rock HD double sheer track bar. Anyone here run these?

By definition, IRO's kit IS NOT a one ton steering kit. 1 Ton Steering kits use GM 1 Ton TRE's. Heim steering is not a 1 ton kit.

I was looking at the jcr or serious's kit. They're very similar. I'm not sure how I'm going to go about moving my track bar though.

I just did this. The differences I could see is that your kit comes with a poly spacer for each side and uses slightly thicker wall tubing. Jcr has it listed as "just below 0.250"" and yours is 0.281".

Those are two good things to put you above jcr. Is there anything else I might've overlooked?

There's is .218, mine is .281.

Mine has machined wrench flats for a 1 1/8" wrench, their's doesn't.
Mine has dual grooves milled into the L/H threaded end to make identifying it as easy as a quick glance, their's doesn't.

Dual Poly spacers do a better job of minimizing tie-rod roll. I tell my customers how to make their own replacement spacers, they don't.

If you're capable of cutting some pipe and making 4 to 6 solid welds(depends if you make your own track bar too) then you can easily make your own for right around 200 depending how much DOM costs you. I plan on ordering the heim and inserts from ruff stuff, buying the DOM locally and welding it up myself. All said and done, Ill have beefy *** crossover steering for under 225.

I finally met a guy who bent the IRO crossover kit. granted it was on a zj, but still the same setup. he bent the draglink, it sticks way out passed the tie rod and quickly found rocks. gotta love IRO and their "innovations"

I like seriousoffroad stuff. but I'm also a heim lover so I go with ruffstuff

So for your kit, I would also need sway bar link brackets and an adjustable trac bar?

i decided to build my own.. but after you figure the cost of the dom (80$)
all the tie rods (50$) the thread inserts and jam nuts (25$) and all the work drilling and reaming out all the holes.. its not really worth it when you can buy a kit for just a few bucks more.... and then all the work is done.. no measuring or welding..
