I'm the guy with the red jeep you beat in the COTM where r are you in Az. I'm from there and bringing my jeep out there at the end of the year. I read you mention the broken arrow trail and that's in Sedona a few miles from where my family is hit me up would love to go wheeling with you and your Cherokee.

Wish I were but having several medical issues on this end and have spent a lot of time in and out of the hospital, just have to wait and see. The wife and I need to get away from the farm here and had planned to go out west for a couple of months this winter but...**** happens, Motor Home has been ready since Nov. of last year.

How did you convert the tail lights on your xj to the ones you have now?

I can hardly believe there are 2.8's still on the road. I think the Pontiac Fiero GT had the hottest iteration of that motor. Aluminum heads. Fuel inhjection etc. Would have been a nice Cherokee upgrade.

Let me know about the Grille. Really interested. Email me directly.

    Hi Empty-

Wow! A 22 slot grille in your garage? Is it in good shape? I can help fill your pockets if you are willing to sell it. Say, $40 plus shipping to Santa Cruz, CA? Where are you located. "Over here..." ?

Also, I am looking for a quad headlight header panel/grille/light trim assembly. Got one of those too?

And of interest, my first XJ was an '86 2.8 Laredo 5 speed. Bought it new in Redwood City, California in 1986. Drove it 4 years and 100K. Replaced it with a new 1990 Laredo. Drove that 225K. Sold that in 2001. Bot the current '96 2 door Sport last year.

Spent a lot of $ on the 2.8. Electronic mixture needle in the carb came apart internally. No one could figure out the problem. $1000 of repair bills later I figured it our and fixed it for about $35. Also, disco axle vac hoses leaked at the fittings. Especially near the exhaust. Fixed that with a coating of ShoeGoo on the fittings. Vac leaks were a headache. Once sorted out, all was happy.

    cont. . .
