Haven't done it yet but im looking into making a storage box and one piece sub box. It will be two separate parts. That way if i don't need to have the subs in i can take them out.. Here is a sketch i put together with the basic idea.. haha everything is a lil off tilt.
The base will have two draws for tools and such... it will be a big pull out box.. the length of the cargo area.
The sub box with amp racks will be one peice design.. Raised maybe two or so inches with subwoofers pointing downwards, so they are not visible. Tinted plexi glass will be in front and the backside of the subwoofers will be shown with lights(only when lights are on will they be seen) Amp racks will be covered on top and only visible at a horizontal view. The box will be covered in black vinyl so at night or day will look almost invisible.
Mmm, ran out of things.. If anyone has any suggestions or comments feel free to speak your mind.

Looks pretty good to me. I'm actually making a combo box as well. Two subs with a storage chamber on the other side.
My only concern would be amplifier heat. Do you think you will have enough air flow to keep them cool?

I'm sure this has been covered before, but it's my own Homebrew solution so here goes...
My rear shock bolts stripped out on me again and that was the last straw! I didn't want to deal with them anymore. This wasn't my first run in with the dreaded rear upper shock mount bolts. Mine had previously broken and I had to pay a shop to drill them out and re-tap the holes. I would have done it myself, but I had to work and needed it fixed before a trip. When they stripped out again I decided to find a more permanent solution:
First I pulled up the carpet in the rear cargo area. Then I slid under the Jeep with my drill and drilled (5/16's I believe) holes up through the old holes going all the way through the cargo bottom. Now back into the cargo area I could see exactly where the shocks are positioned. Using my angle grinder with a cut-off wheel I cut out the area around the holes so I could drop bolts down through. The shocks I chose required a BPE to work, so I went "World's cheapest" and pulled the ends off of a rear sway bar and connected it to the shock. Then, with a buddies help, I tightened everything up and was done. Nice thing about this setup is that if I ever need to mess with them again, I only have to pull the BPE bolt out.

It's a very solid setup that I won't need to mess with for a long time!

I planned on putting some computer fans in the back of the amp racks so i can atleast get some airflow to them, but when i had my 93 sport they were underneath the back seat and not once did i have a heating problem.. Oh also i have marine amps and speakers.

So, I saw many awesome ideas, a couple that im going to do myself. One of them being the outlets. But, was it a pain to run the extension cable under the carpet?
I made a false floor. It is kind of like 96_XJ's floor but taller and top access with cup holders.

it was pretty easy to do, unlike most people i didn't take the seat belts off, i just kinda slid the plastic panels behind them down. to remove the foam i used my vacuum and then used a pad that came with a bed liner kit.
to attach the new stuff i used 3m spray adhesive i think it is called something like 77 super? then used tacky glue on the back/edges. al in all an easy job that just took some time and patience.

pulled the interior rear panel and mounted a power inverter

my cheap on board air, picked up a 2 gallon tank and compressor from work for about $7

im going to build a cover for it and run the air chuck out of the cover along with a 3 outlet plug for 110

used scrap from the shop, the metal came from an old walk in freezer

cut a eye bolt to use as a hook and a bungy cord to keep it from moving around

so far i have my first aid kit, folding hand saw, and flashlight mounted up there. im going to make another one for the other side.

here are my home made disco's Attachment 27680 made with a 1/2" clevis pin on the bottom and 7/16? wing nuts and lock washers. they work awesome then i use a 2' piece of velcro to hold up the sway bar so its not flopping around
i did this too when i had my 3" lift. Home Depot carries a 7/16" clevis. its a tight fit so when you want it out just give it a little love tap.
