Been working on this for a while, but its almost done. I made the back bumper with a swing out member which will hold my spare tire, farm jack, and 5 gallon gas can. Its been truck bed lined and is just needing a kc light mounted under the spare tire. Its also slid into the frame 16 inches, sandwiched to the frame by four 3/8" bolts. Its not going anywhere!

Not a big fan of the Comanches. LOL But an old J10 would be nice. I have seen a few for sale but usually they are all rusted out around here or they are priced out of site. The Toyota is pretty easy to find parts for and at this point I have a lot of spare parts including a rebuilt engine sitting on a stand so it isn't worth changing just yet. When the springs rot out of the frame then maybe it will be time for a change. LOL

here are some pics of my bumper:
before powder coating:

after powder and mounted:

I had a plasma table to cut out the parts. I used 3/8" plate for the mounting brackets, winch mounting plate and fairlead plate. the rest was either 3/16" plate or 12 gauge to keep it light. Thats right, I personalized it and plasma cut MFJ, a nickname from high school. I am going to move my blinkers behind that and get some bigger headlights...
the best part is the approach clearance, but I didnt get a picture of that....
this was my first attempt at a bumper. I am a professional AutoCAD steel detailer though so I had a head start and I work in a metal fab shop, so supplies were at my fingertips. I am not a welder though so I think its pretty good for me and a buddy going at this... what do you guys think?

Here's mine. Got it skirted yesterday. Just tacked together but still need some gussets and bracing installed before I pull it off for welding.
